Rumour concerning the Aina Amarth

by Turamarth

The gossiper grabs hold of you after looking around suspiciously for a while and starts whispering in your ear. 'Have you heard the latest rumour from the East?' He looks around once again. 'I ran into a weathered traveller, one of those strange elven folks, the other day and he was in a mighty hurry and it looked to me like he was in quite a fright. He spoke to me hastily and he told me of som strange religious fellows, all men, and fanatic members of some cult, who he said had come from the far East to build a temple o'er here in north-western Middle-earth and prepare the coming of... of,' the gossiper pauses for a moment, '"the Amarthatar", the Holy Father, I reckon it meant. And the elf said they are trying to "convince other men to submit to him". I didn't understand all what that ol' elf said, but it sure sounded mighty worrying! Anyway, the whole reason that he had such a fright, he told me, is 'cause "these men are taunting and prejudiced, mistrusters of elves and dwarves."' Before he rushed off again he mentioned the name of the cult,' the gossiper thinks real hard, 'the "Aina Amarth", and he told me to "be wary of it."' The gossiper looks worriedly at the ground and sighs. 'Oh my, oh my! I hope they won't stir up any more trouble than we already got!'
